Barium Enema (Large Bowel)
Follow instructions on bowel preparation kit obtained from your doctor or our rooms.
IVP (Kidney and Bladder Xray)
Nothing to eat or drink for 4 hrs before appointment.
Ultrasound of Abdomen/Gallstones
Nothing to eat or drink for 6 hrs before appointment and no smoking for 6 hrs prior to examination.
Ultrasound of Pelvis & Kidneys
You will need a full bladder. Finish drinking 1 litre of fluid 1 hr before your appointment.
Ultrasound of Early Pregnancy
You will need a full bladder. Finish drinking 1 litre of fluid 1 hr (up to 17 weeks) before your appointment.
Ultrasound Morphology
You will need a full bladder. Finish drinking 1/2 a litre of fluid (18 - 20 weeks) 45 mins before your appointment.
CT Scan of Head, Neck, Spine or Chest
No preparation required.
CT Scan of Abdomen/Pelvis
Nothing to eat or drink for 4 hrs before appointment. Arrive at rooms 1 hr prior to appointment to drink 1 litre of barium solution.
CT Urogram (Kidneys)
No preparation required. |
